Paulette S. Johnston, 90, of Camillus, passed away Sunday March 7, 2010 at Francis House. Born in Syracuse on Sunday, October 19, 1919, she was a lifetime resident of the Syracuse area. She graduated from Solvay High School in 1937. Paulette was an Army veteran of World War II and was employed 32 years with the Veterans Administration, retiring in 1975. She was member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. She was predeceased by her parents, Duncan and Marie Johnston Sr.; brothers, William, Duncan and Paul; and sisters, Jean Newberry and Mary Jane Pope. Surviving are her sisters and brother-in-law, Agnes Schaffer of Crofton, Maryland and Patricia and Don A. Sims of Brewerton; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, March 12 at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Paulette will be laid to rest in Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
