Paul R. Cayen, 73, of Fairmount, died Saturday, June 9, 2007 at Crouse Hospital. Born in Canton on Sunday, October 1, 1933, he was the son of Rolland E. Cayen and Mabel E. Foster. He lived in Potsdam for 16 years and in Syracuse until moving to Fairmount in 1964. Paul was employed by Community-General Hospital for three years and by Syroco for 30 years. Paul enjoyed hunting deer and fishing for smelt and trout. He also would spend his leisure time playing cards with family and friends, telling jokes and watching old-time movies on television. A very giving and caring person, he would give the shirt off his back. Surviving are his wife of 51 years, the former Verna Payrot; sons, Paul P. Cayen of Detroit, Michigan and Mark A. Cayen of Fairmount; brother, Lloyd T. Cayen of Cicero; sisters, Jean Carter of Liverpool and Darlene Burrows of Parish. Services will be at 7 p.m. Monday, June 11, 2007 at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus with Rev. David Movsovich officiating. Friends may call preceding the service from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Oakwood Cemetery Mausoleum.
