Patricia Louise (Shea) Wheeler

Patricia Louise (Shea) Wheeler, 80, of Camillus, passed away and went to be with our Lord, our Blessed Mother, Mary, and the love of her life, Richard, on Sunday at home. She valiantly fought a long, hard battle of COPD/emphysema and was able to celebrate her 80th birthday in September for a week and a half, surrounded by her family and friends.

A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, Patricia was a graduate of St. Patrick's School and member of the Sorority Charity Guild. She was employed with NY Telephone Co., various schools working with disabled children, and Aetna Insurance. A communicant of Holy Family Church, Patricia enjoyed golfing and flower gardening, and cherished her Irish heritage. Above all, she loved spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren.

Patricia can now rest in peace with her husband of 39 years, Richard; sister, Kathleen “Bunny” Nichols; niece, Kelly Nichols; and parents, Kenneth and Patricia Shea.

Surviving are her sons, Richard Jr. of South Bend, IN, and David (Penni) of Camillus; daughters, Kimberly (Joseph) Cavallo and Kathleen, both of Camillus; grandchildren, Emily, Jack, Olivia, Ashley, Matthew, Joseph and Erin; and niece, Kerry (Mark) Irwin of Baldwinsville.

Relatives and friends may call Thursday, November 3 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.

A funeral Mass will be held Friday, November 4 at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church, 127 Chapel Dr., Syracuse.

Patricia will be laid to rest in St. Agnes Cemetery, Syracuse.

Patricia was a dedicated wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend. We were all truly blessed to have her, love her, and to be loved by her.
