Patricia Ann Scheg, 91, of Camillus, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday. Born and raised in Rochester, she moved to Camillus in 1964, where she raised her family.
Closest to her heart, Pat treasured time spent with her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt. Her legacy of love and kindness will live on through them.
Pat had a special talent for making others feel welcome and cherished. She was known for her warmth, her joy in hosting gatherings for family and friends, and her love of baking and cooking. An avid reader and enthusiastic gardener, she found joy in life’s simple pleasures.
Pat was a devoted communicant of both St. Ann’s and St. Joseph’s Churches. She gave generously of her time as a member of the Altar & Rosary Society at St. Ann’s and sang in the choirs at both parishes.
A dedicated volunteer, Pat served with compassion at Meals on Wheels, Francis House, and the Office of Multicultural Affairs at Syracuse University. Her kind heart and selfless nature touched many lives.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Pat was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Donald; three sisters; and four brothers.
Surviving are her daughters, Mary Pat (Bill) Keith, Christine Vander Voort, Judith (Jerry) Albert, and Kathleen (Joseph) Picciott; son, Donald (Amy) Scheg; grandchildren, Heather (Carrie Brownell) Scheg, Erin (Steve) Ehrhart, Kelli (Nick) DeRisio, Elizabeth Suri, EJ (Gretchen) Vander Voort, Stephanie (Matt) Reed, Eric (Kaitlyn) Vander Voort, Laura (Sergio Cerna) Albert, Andrew (Nikki) Albert, Danielle Picciott, Samantha (Justin) Ferretti, and Shawn Picciott; 17 great-grandchildren; sister, Kathleen (Dr. D. Agyeman) Vaeth; brother, James (Judy) Vaeth; and a multitude of beloved nieces, nephews, in-laws, and loyal lifetime friends.
To celebrate Pat’s life, relatives and friends are invited to gather on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church, 5600 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
A funeral Mass will follow in the church.
Pat will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
