Patricia Hartnett Sansone, 71, formerly of Westvale, passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2014 in her daughter's home in Fairmount. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, she worked 38 years at St. Camillus Health & Rehabilitation Center, retiring in 2003 as director of food service. She previously worked as supervisor of food service for St. Mary's in Syracuse. Pattie was an active supporter of Food Service Executives, Inc. but most of all loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, Maggie and Sam. For years, Pattie opened her house and heart to everyone who needed a place to laugh, a place to cry or simply a place to sit for awhile and have some great conversation. She never turned anyone away. She embraced her employees at St. Camillus like they were her own family. She guided them and loved them, helping many find new paths and new leases on life. Her job was a huge part of her life and she approached it with humor, strength and compassion. Pattie was predeceased by her parents, Francis "Pat" and Margaret Hartnett; and husband, Salvatore "Sam", in 2006. Surviving are her daughter, Erin (Gary) Pallett of Fairmount; sister, Maureen (Tim) Griesel of Westvale; grandchildren, who were her pride and joy, Maggie and Sam Pallett; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Relatives and friends may call Thursday, January 1 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, January 2 at 10 a.m. in Most Holy Rosary Church. Burial will be private in St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of CNY, 990 Seventh North St., Liverpool, NY 13088.
