Patricia "Pat Kay" Monahan

Patricia "Pat Kay" Monahan, 72, of Fairmount, passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Crouse Hospital. Born in Scranton, PA and raised in Lake Placid, she moved to Syracuse in 1965. Pat was a graduate of St. Joseph's School in Malone and a 1965 graduate of AMCH School of Radiology. She was employed with Van Duyn and the office of Dr. Young, DDS. She also worked for the county in home care. A former communicant of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, she was active in pastoral care, the funeral guild and choir. She enjoyed baking and spending time with her family.

Pat was predeceased by her husband, Michael, in 2008; and parents Patrick and Katherine McKeown.

Surviving are her sons, Patrick (Julianne) of Cheyenne, WY and John of Camillus; granddaughters, Jessilyn and Rebecca Monahan; brothers, James (Judy) McKeown of West Lebanon, NH and John (Kathy) McKeown of Mount Joy, PA; and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call Monday, March 27 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, March 28 at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Peace Church.
