Patricia “Pat” Mancini Conway, 89, formerly of Taunton, died in Christ on Thursday, January 18, in Cicero. A lifelong resident of the Syracuse area, she graduated from Solvay High School in 1952. Pat married Michael Conway at the former First Christian Assembly on October 6, 1962. At FCA, she acted as Sunday School registrar and joyfully assisted with Vacation Bible School for several summers. As of 1998, Pat and Mike had been members of the former North Syracuse Baptist Church. She had been employed with the NY Telephone Co. Both Pat and Mike strongly championed their children’s Christian, musical, and secular educations and modeled fiscal responsibility. For many years, she and her mom, Mamie, were very active in the CNY antiques, furniture, and jewelry scene, and she collected older thimbles. Most importantly, Pat was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, mentor, and friend and enjoyed time with family. She frequently referenced her beloved maternal grandfather, Domenico Bianchi. Making Italian baked goods, especially almond pizzelle waffles, was a favorite regular activity. Pat was often generous to strangers and relatives in quiet, simple ways and lent an ear to those who sought common sense counsel. She treasured her many trips to Rockport, MA, Chinese checkers matches, and blessed decades of cozy home life on Fay Rd., where she had applied hundreds of glorious yards of contact paper! Above all, Pat boldly proclaimed her Abruzzese-Italian Solvay heritage. She’d teasingly say, “There are two types of people in this world, those who are Italian, and those who want to be!”
Patricia was predeceased by her beloved husband, Michael H., on January 9, 2024; parents, Pasquale "Patsy" and Erminia “Mamie” (Bianchi) Mancini; brother, Samuel L. Mancini; nephews, Timothy M. and Mark T. Mancini; brothers-in-law, Edwin “Pete” Endres and Richard S. Conway; and sisters-in-law, Jeanne R. (Colelli) Mancini and Patricia J. (Conway) Endres.

(Kevin Ernst) Conway of Lyle, WA; sisters-in-law, Wanda Tarbell of Liverpool and Patricia (Stirpe) Conway of Syracuse; granddaughter, Olivia Conway Ernst of Lyle, WA; niece, Rebecca J. (Kim Waite) Mancini of Solvay; and many Bianchi and Mancini first cousins.
