Patricia (Knodel) Smarzo, 95, of Syracuse, passed away Saturday, December 8, 2018. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, she received her bachelor's degree from Syracuse University in home economics.
Patricia was devoted to her family and was a stay at home mother. An avid quilter, she was also involved with Girl Scouts and the National Cathedral Society. She volunteered with Meal on Wheels and was an active member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church.
Patricia was predeceased by her husband, Earl, in 2010; and brother, Richard E. Knodel.
Surviving are her daughter, Patricia A. Smarzo of Marcellus; son, Timothy E. (Llani) Smarzo of Eastwood; sisters, Nancy Haylor and Sally Heidrich; grandchildren, Kasmira (Alistair) Armstrong-Brown of Wycombe, England, Krista Valletta of Pompei, Leila (Kevin) Dean of Syracuse, and Joshua (Genine) Smarzo of Cleveland, Ohio; and great-grandchildren, Isabella and Beatrice Valletta, Collin Dean and Penelope Smarzo.
Relatives and friends may call Saturday, December 22 from 11 a.m. to noon at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 5402 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
Services will follow at noon in the church. Burial will be private in Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
