Patricia French Rogers, 86, of Camillus, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at The Centers at St. Camillus. She was born in Nashua, NH and grew up in Hudson, NH. Patricia graduated from Nashua High School and received a bachelor’s degree in home economics from the University of Massachusetts where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority. She earned a master’s degree in adult education from Syracuse University. Patricia’s career included being employed as a 4-H agent in Ulster County, food editor for the Syracuse Herald Journal, home economist for Cornell Cooperative Extension in Onondaga County, assistant superintendent of the food demonstration kitchen at the NYS Fair, adult education teacher for the Syracuse City School District at the Brighton Family Center and taxpayer service rep for the IRS in Syracuse.
Patricia was predeceased by her parents, Harold and Maude (Sargent) French; and brothers, Gordon and Richard French.
Surviving are her husband of 61 years, Avard; daughter, Victoria (Gerald) Smith of Camillus; son, Russell (Nancy) Rogers of Hollis, NH; grandchildren, Meghan Smith of Syracuse, Matthew Smith of Buffalo and Nathan and Abby Rogers of Hollis, NH; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Saturday, August 17 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
Services will be Sunday, August 18 at 2 p.m. in Immanuel United Methodist Church, 303 Kasson Rd., Camillus.
