Patricia A. Alvaro, 84, of Camillus, passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at Loretto. Born in Darlington, WI, she moved to the Syracuse area in 1957. Patricia earned her associate degree in medical technology. She started as a part-time medical technologist at St. Joseph's Hospital and retired in 2012 as the assistant supervisor of hematology after a career of over 40 years. A communicant of Holy Family Church, Patricia's family and faith were most important to her. She had endless ambition and always looked forward to the next challenge.
Patricia was predeceased by her husband, Louis "Bud" A. Alvaro, in 1981; sister, Margaret; and brothers, William, Michael, Edward "Poncho" and Larry.
Surviving are her sons, Deacon Nick (Donna) of Syracuse, Daniel of Queens and Steven of Camillus; sister, Helen Palmer of Oxnard, CA; grandchildren, Anthony (Maureen), Christopher (Diana), Patrick and Victoria Alvaro and Holly Smith; great-grandchildren, Laura, Sean, Daniel, Nathan, Julia, Emily, Boston and Cooper; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Relatives and friends may call Thursday, May 10 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, May 11 at 10:30 a.m. in Holy Family Church, 127 Chapel Dr., Syracuse. Patricia will be laid to rest in Bath National Cemetery.
