Norbert S. Lukacs, 70, of Fairmount, passed away Saturday, February 16, 2019 at St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, he was a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy and Corpus Christi University.
Norbert was employed with the Syracuse Fire Dept. for 32 years, retiring as a lieutenant in 2005. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Norbert was a SU sports fan. He loved reading and history, especially making military models but above all, loved spending time with his family.
Surviving are his wife of 49 years, the former Catherine Dembowski; daughter, Noelle (Brian) King of Camillus; son, Norbert Luke of Fairmount; sister, Ginny (Greg) Langdon of Syracuse; brothers, Mark (Cathy) of Sodus Point, Paul (Jeanette) of Camillus, Rob (Robin) of Cicero, Steve of Syracuse and Rich (Abby) of Fort Worth, Texas; grandchildren, Carolyn, Mitchell, and Eva; and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Tuesday, February 19 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, February 20 at 9:30 a.m. in the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Burial will be private.
