Nora Murphy Adams, 95, of Warners, passed away peacefully on Wednesday at home, just a few days shy of her 96th birthday. Born and raised in Syracuse, she was a 1945 graduate of St. Lucy’s Academy. Nora pursued a career as an employee benefits manager at P&C Foods, dedicating over three decades of service to the company, retiring in 1990. Her dedication, integrity, and unwavering work ethic left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Nora's deep faith was reflected in her active involvement in her church, Our Lady of Peace, where she served as a lector and Eucharistic minister. She was a cherished Altar & Rosary Society member, always ready to lend a helping hand and a listening ear to those in need. A true matriarch, Nora adored spending time with her large and loving family, cherishing every moment spent together.
Nora’s family extends their heartfelt gratitude to her caregivers, Mary and Linda Sue, for consistently offering her dignified care and, above all, love. They also would like to recognize Sister Sandy for her cup of friendship to begin Nora’s day, affection, and always keeping a watchful eye out for her. Words cannot express their gratitude.
Nora is predeceased by her husband, Earl; parents, John and Alice Murphy; and brother, Paul Murphy.
Surviving are her sons, Thomas (Angela) Adams and Kenneth Adams; daughters, Nancy (Scott) Webster, Margaret (Mark) Kerswell, Eileen (Frank) Mazzye, Susan (John) Mulholland, Mary (Kevin) Quinn and Theresa (Jerry Anthony) More; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
To celebrate Nora’s life, relatives and friends are invited to gather on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
A funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at 10 a.m. in St. Marianne Cope Parish at Our Lady of Peace Church, 203 Halcomb St., Syracuse.
Nora will be laid to rest in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Lakeland.
