Nick Cefaratti, 93, of Solvay, passed away Sunday, April 13, 2014 at Francis House. Born in Solvay, he lived in the Syracuse area for most of his life. Nick was a graduate of Solvay High School and Syracuse University. A veteran of World War II, he was employed by Allied Chemical Corp. for more than 30 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Nick was predeceased by his first wife, the former Lydia Palma; three sisters; and two nephews. Surviving are his wife of eight years, Helen Steele-Cefaratti; sons, Peter (Cora) Cefaratti of Virginia and James (Dorcas) Cefaratti of Maryland; daughters, Karen (George) Devendorf of Fort Edward, Ruth-Anne Cefaratti of Manhattan and Lisa (Steve) Guidone of Baldwinsville; sisters, Teresa D'Anna, Anna Lotito and Leah (Paul) Moth, all of Solvay; brother, John (Eleanor) Cefaratti of Solvay; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Edward Musengo of Solvay; and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call Monday, April 21 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Private burial will be in White Chapel Memory Gardens, DeWitt.
