Neil Robert Nappa, 83, of Camillus, passed away Friday, February 10, 2012 after a short illness. Born in Syracuse on Wednesday, April 11, 1928 to Carmen and Anna Nappa, Neil served in the U.S. Air Force as a staff sergeant during World War II and the Korean War and graduated from Syracuse University. He retired in 1984 from a career in finance management at GMAC. Neil will be remembered as an avid bowler, having competed in many local and state competitions, and as an accomplished golfer at Tuscarora Golf Club. Neil was predeceased by his parents; sister, Flora; and grandson, Alex. Surviving are his beloved wife of 61 years, Anne Nappa; son, Robert of South Cairo; daughter, Diane of East Syracuse; grandchildren, Koryn, Kimberly, Lauren and Marissa; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Relatives and friends may call Sunday, February 12 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Funeral services will be Monday, February 13 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date in Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum, St. Mary’s Cemetery, DeWitt.
