Naomi W. Norman, 88, of Syracuse, passed away Sunday, August 15, 2010 at Van Duyn Home & Hospital. Born in Riverside, New Jersey on Wednesday, December 21, 1921, she was the daughter of Harvey Bates Ward and Edythe Laura Richman Ward. She moved to Syracuse in 1938. Naomi was employed by Chase Manhattan Bank, Continental Can Co., Lever Brothers and Lafayette United Methodist Church. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Naomi loved gardening, her dogs, and all kinds of crafts, especially quilling and crocheting. Naomi was predeceased by her first husband, K. Gordon Broadway; second husband, Frank A. Norman; daughter, Carol Broadway Pardee; and brothers, Lester H. and Robert E. Ward. Surviving are her son-in-law, Nelson R. Pardee of Camillus; brother and sister-in-law, Harvey B. and Virginia Humes Ward Jr. of Englewood, Florida; sister-in-law, Dorothy Mautone Ward of Kingston, New York; granddaughter, Faith Pardee Abrahamson of Riverside, Rhode Island; five great-grandchildren; six nieces; one great-nephew; one-great-niece; and extended family, Hazel, John and Colin Newlen of Syracuse. Relatives and friends may call Thursday, August 19 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Services will follow at 6 p.m. at the funeral home with Nelson R. Pardee officiating. Naomi will be laid to rest at 10 a.m. Friday, August 20 in White Chapel Memory Gardens, DeWitt.
