Myron "Red" Mathewson, 90, of Camillus, passed away Saturday, July 28, 2018 at The Cottages at Garden Grove, Cicero. Born in Syracuse, he lived in Camillus over 32 years and was a graduate of Vocational High School. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Myron retired in 1983 after working over 35 years with Carrier Corp. He was a model airplane enthusiast and a member of the Aero Radio Club of Syracuse. He coached for Midstate Youth Hockey and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and attending all their events.
Myron was predeceased by his wife, Anne, in 2013; sister, Thelma; and brothers, Thaine and Howard.
Surviving are his daughter, Diana (Arlindo) Neves of Camillus; sons, David (Ginger) Mathewson of Cicero and Daniel Mathewson of Camillus; grandchildren, Jessica Dolan, Kevin Mathewson, Christopher and Jason Neves, Dan and Erica Mathewson, and Aaron and Ryan Andreotta; great-grandchildren, Camran, Rusty, Alexis, Emily, Jack, Jozlyn, Carter, Sean, Kellen, Lucia, Ryan, Sophia, Robbie, Ezekiel and Wyatt; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
There will be no calling hours.
Private services will be Monday, August 6 at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Myron will be laid to rest in Belle Isle Cemetery, Warners with full military honors.
