Michele (Moffatt) Borell, 74, of Solvay, passed away peacefully Friday after a long and courageous battle with ALS, surrounded by her loving family. She was known for her kindness, warmth, and dedication to her family and community.
Michele was a lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, where she attended Corcoran High School, graduating in 1968.
After completing her education, Michele embarked on a long and successful career with Niagara Mohawk. For 30 years, she worked as a secretary, where her meticulous attention to detail and her cheerful demeanor made her a beloved colleague. Michele retired in 2007, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and loyalty. Beyond her career at Niagara Mohawk, she found joy and fulfillment in her role as a representative for Avon and Mary Kay skincare products.
Michele was a member of Grace Assembly of God Church in Syracuse, where her faith was a cornerstone of her life. She had many passions, including baking, sewing, gardening, and watching daytime soap operas. However, her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren.
Michele was predeceased by her parents, James and Mary Jane Moffatt.
Surviving are her husband, Christopher; daughter, Kristen of Syracuse; sons, Christopher Jr. (Mary Beth) of Liverpool, and Michael of Baldwinsville; cherished granddaughters, Isabelle and Elise; sister, Marlene (Frank) Maestri; and nieces, Melissa Maestri and Maria Borell.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Michele's caregivers, Kelly Grooms, Marykate Cacchione, and Christina Veley, for their loving care and support throughout her illness.
