Michael John Strempel

Michael John Strempel, 42, of 206 Pitcher Lane, North Syracuse, passed away Monday, May 4, 2009 at Francis House. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, he attended ARC of Onondaga Day Programs in Eastwood and Fremont and was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Camillus. Michael was predeceased by his grandparents, Jane and Carl Strempel and Florence and Clarence Kopp. Surviving are his parents, Patrick and Ceci Strempel of Camillus; sisters, Julie of Springfield, Virginia and Patricia of Tucson, Arizona; brother, Kenneth Strempel of Liverpool; nephews, Brian Strempel, Ruben Purdy and Liam Frank; niece, Lila Purdy; several aunts, uncles and cousins. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 7, 2009 in St. Joseph’s Church where a funeral Mass will be celebrated. Relatives and friends may call Wednesday, May 6, 2009 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Michael will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Cemetery in Warners. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Francis House, 108 Michaels Ave., Syracuse, NY 13208 or to Hospice of CNY, 990 Seventh North St., Liverpool, NY 13088.
