Michael James McLaughlin

Michael James McLaughlin, 29, of San Diego, California and formerly of Camillus, passed away Sunday, December 20, 2009 in Santa Ana, California. He was born and raised in Camillus before moving to San Diego in February 2005. A 1998 graduate of West Genesee High School, Michael also attended Bridgton Academy in Maine and Rutgers University. He was an account executive for Maxim Staffing Solutions in San Diego. An avid lacrosse player, he was the MVP of the 1998 NYS Lacrosse Championship Game and First Team All Central New York Attack. He also played lacrosse for Bridgton Academy and Rutgers University as well as Quiksilver semi-professional lacrosse team that won the 2009 CA State Championship. He was a five-year blood and platelet donor with the American Red Cross. He was also a tissue and eye donor. Michael was a great lover of music and people. His smile lit up a room and warmed the hearts of all he loved. Surviving are the love of his life, Audra D'Angelo of San Diego, California, formerly of Camillus; his parents, James and Margaret Anderson McLaughlin of Camillus. Michael was the beloved brother and best friend to Jennifer McLaughlin of Syracuse, and Daniel McLaughlin and fiancée, Mandy Gransden of Liverpool; proud uncle of his niece, Madison, and nephew, Gavin James. He is also survived by his godmother and aunt, Mary Ann Anderson of Syracuse; and several other aunts, uncles and cousins. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, December 28, 2009 in Holy Family Church. Relatives and friends may call Sunday, December 27, 2009 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Skaneateles.
