Michael J. Arney

Michael J. Arney, 46, of Syracuse, died Wednesday, December 13, 2006 at home. Born on Monday, June 27, 1960, he was the son of Wilfred Salem Arney and Cora Mae Matthews. A lifetime resident of Syracuse, he was a union steward at Penny Curtiss Bakery where he was employed for 24 years. Michael was a Kempo Karate brown belt and member of the Foster Parent Program. Michael was predeceased by his father, Wilfred, and sister, Lindy. Surviving are his wife of 25 years, the former Darlene Zielinski; daughters, Katie and Dawn Marie (Elemer); sons, Kevin and Hardy; two grandchildren; mother, Cora Arney; brothers, Wilfred and Joseph; sisters, Carol, Winnie and Jean and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be held Saturday, December 16, 2006 at 3 p.m. in St. Charles Borromeo Church where a funeral Mass will be celebrated. Friends may call Friday, December 15, 2006 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Burial will be private at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Lakeland.
