Michael A. “Mike” Giufre, 75, formerly of Liverpool, passed away Tuesday, surrounded by his loving family. Born on March 12, 1948, he was a loving son to Tony and Louise Giufre. A 1966 graduate of Canastota High School, he received his associate degree from SUNY Morrisville.
On May 22, 1971, Mike was married to his love, the former Patricia Pannetti, whom he spent 52 wonderful years with and had two sons to whom they devoted their lives.
Mike worked in various roles at Diemolding Corp. in Canastota for 42 years. Following his retirement from Diemolding Corp., he joined Higbee Corp. as a consultant for several years. He was a communicant of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Liverpool.
Mike was an avid NY Yankees and S.U. sports fan. He enjoyed playing golf, cards, swimming, and being a great role model to his sons. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and friends, but especially being a papa to all his grandchildren who adored him.
Mike was predeceased by his parents; and brother, Robert.
Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Patti; sons, Matt (Stephanie) and Mark (Jennifer); former daughter-in-law, Carrie; brother, Thomas (Roslyn); eight grandchildren, Molly, Madelyn, Olivia, Nicholas, Landon, Emma, Leo, and Michael; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and loving friends.
The family of Mike would like to give a special thank you to the nurses, aides, and staff at Glendale Home for their love, care, and compassion during his years there. They became their family.
Relatives and friends may call Saturday, August 5 from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Epiphany Parish at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 425 Beechwood Ave., Liverpool. A funeral Mass will follow in the church.
Michael will be laid to rest in Assumption Cemetery, Syracuse.
