Michael F. Savage, 64, of Westvale, passed away Friday, February 9, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center. Born and raised in Syracuse, he lived in Tampa, FL and St. Charles, IL before moving back to Syracuse in 2012. Michael was a graduate of St. Anthony of Padua and earned his bachelor’s degree from the University at Buffalo. He began his engineering career at O’Brien & Gere, followed by employment for over 20 years at Arcadis. Michael was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church. He enjoyed golf, basketball and spending time at Sandy Pond, but above all, Michael loved his family and friends.
Michael was predeceased by his son, Patrick; and mother, Frances.
Surviving are his wife of 42 years, Christine (Hansen); daughter, Kerry of Washington, DC; sons, Matt of Fort Lauderdale, FL and Kevin of Washington, DC; father, Jim Sr. (Marcella) of Geddes; sister, Peggy (Tim) Byrne of Westvale; brothers, Jim Jr. (Nancy) of Edgewater, FL, Tom (Judy) of Astoria, OR, Dan (Kathy) of Rochester and Pete (Beth) of Syracuse; and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Monday, February 12 from 3 to 6 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Church, 216 North Lowell Ave., Syracuse.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, February 13 at 12:30 p.m. in the church. Michael will be laid to rest in Onondaga Valley Cemetery, Syracuse.
