Michael C. Leach, 39, of Marcellus, formerly of Solvay, passed away Tuesday at Upstate University Hospital. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, he was a graduate of Solvay High School. Mike was employed with Spectrum where he worked as a dispatcher for 10 years and was a member of the Tyrol Club of Solvay. He was an avid sports enthusiast, especially the Buffalo Bills, New York Knicks, Syracuse sports, and a huge Peyton Manning fan. Mike was a joy to be around, was known for his sense of humor and always made everyone feel comfortable. He loved spending time with his family, especially his children.
Mike was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Herbert and Joan Leach; maternal grandparents, Nilo and Rose Miori; and uncle, Albert “Al” Merola.
Surviving are his wife of seven years, the former Charina Carissimi; children, Michael and Bree; parents, Steven and Sandra Leach of Solvay; sister, Heather (Devin) Carrigan of Syracuse; and several nieces, a nephew, aunts, uncles, cousins, and numerous close friends.
Relatives and friends may call Tuesday, January 18 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus 13031.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, January 19 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Marianne Cope Parish – St. Cecilia Church, 1001 Woods Rd., Solvay. Mike will be laid to rest in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Marcellus.
