Michael Bliss, 69, of Camillus, passed away Thursday, February 26, 2015 at University Hospital. Born in Syracuse, he was raised in Baldwinsville and lived in Lakeland for 34 years before moving to Camillus in 2012. He was a graduate of C.W. Baker High School and Bryant & Stratton. He served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. Michael retired from IBM in 2006 after 37 years. He was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church. An avid SU lacrosse fan, he also enjoyed reading and spending time with his family. Surviving are his wife of 43 years, the former Ruth Bullard; daughter, Kimberly (Ken) Coon of Jordan; son, Alexander (Emma) of Rochester; brothers, Richard (Judi) of Baldwinsville, David (Yadira) of Buffalo and Charles of Syracuse; and granddaughter, Emilia Coon. There will be no calling hours. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, February 27 at 1 p.m. in St. Joseph's Church. Michael will be laid to rest in Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to one's favorite charity.
