Maureen "Mo" A. (McNamara) Sheedy

Maureen “Mo” A. (McNamara) Sheedy, 74, of Camillus, passed away Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at home, surrounded by her loving family and her husband, Jim, of 55 years. A lifetime resident of Syracuse, Maureen was a graduate of Most Holy Rosary and attended Nazareth College. Maureen was employed by Camillus Parks and Recreation for over 20 years before retiring in 2007. Prior to her employment at Camillus Parks and Recreation, Maureen lovingly and selflessly raised her five children and also opened her home to care for many other children. “The more the merrier” was one of Mo’s favorite sayings. Maureen loved traveling the globe with her husband, and especially loved vacationing with her entire family in Cape May, NJ. She was a communicant of Holy Family Church for over 50 years. Maureen cherished her lifelong friendships and will be forever remembered.

Surviving are her husband, James; daughters, Kathleen (John) McLachlan of Fairport, Kelly (Christopher) Parisi of Camillus, Erin (Mark) Bednarski of Camillus and Maureen (Scott) Goodelle of Mooresville, NC; son, Kevin (Cassandra) Sheedy of Clarence; brother, James (Peggy) McNamara; stepsister, Mary (Robert) Child; grandchildren, Meghan and John McLachlan, Joseph and Thomas Parisi, Kyra and Abby Bednarski, Tucker and Molly Goodelle and Brent, Jack and Reagan Sheedy; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call Sunday, November 18 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, November 19 at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church, 127 Chapel Dr., Syracuse. Maureen will be laid to rest in St. Mary's Cemetery Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum, DeWitt.
