Maureen Gridley, passed away peacefully on Wednesday at the age of 84. She was the loving mother of nine children, 35 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren. An avid Syracuse basketball fan, Maureen loved watching every game, decked head to toe in orange, yelling at the TV the entire time. She attended many games and could be seen high fiving anyone around her after every basket. Maureen was a longtime communicant of Holy Family Church and was fierce in her dedication to her faith. In her spare time, she loved to read and to spend time at her cottage on Panther Lake, but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her large family. Right to the end, Maureen had an incredible sense of humor and quick wit.
Maureen was predeceased by the love of her life, husband of 57 years, Charles in 2015; daughters, Maureen Micale in 2003 and Colleen Michlovitch in 2014; grandson, Jason in 2012; and one great-grandson, in 2005.
She will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by her children, Chuck (Patricia) Gridley of Skaneateles, Karen (Christopher) Kopp of Fort Myers, FL, Kathleen (Robert) Rein of Syracuse, Sharon (Justin) Avery of Summerville, S.C., Mary Rose (James) Laffey of Long Island, Kelly (Robert) McIntyre of Camillus, and Erin (Mark) Fallico of Jamesville; 34 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sister, Donna (Carmen) Parenti of Rochester; and several nieces and nephews.
