Maryann U. Marciniak

October 21, 1931 — March 16, 2015

Maryann U. Marciniak, 83, of Naples, FL, died peacefully Monday, March 16, 2015 at Crouse Hospital after a brief illness.  Born in Schenectady to Francis "Frank" and Frances (Wrzesczinski) Nowak, she was a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School in Schenectady and Mildred Elly Business School in Albany. Maryann worked outside the home for a short period of time.  She was a devoted wife who enjoyed her family, traveling and her second home on Sacandaga Lake in the Adirondacks.  Most of all she was a proud mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and was lovingly known as "Granny" to all. Granny was a feisty little thing who loved and was loved by her family and many friends.  Her sense of humor, adorable ways, and witty sayings will be truly missed by all. Maryann was predeceased by her husband, Edward; son, Martin E. Marciniak; infant grandson, Anthony James Pizzolanti; sister, Lillian Paprocki; and brother, Frank Nowak Jr. Surviving are her son, Daniel (Debra) Marciniak of Schenectady; daughter, Janice (James) Pizzolanti of Syracuse, grandchildren, Sean Marciniak of Oakland, CA, Keith Marciniak of Durham, NC, Seth Marciniak of Plantation, FL, Jennifer Killiany of Wrentham, MA and Alyssa Miller of Ithaca; great-grandchildren, Sloan, Evan, Luke and Lily Marciniak; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be private at the convenience of the family in Syracuse.  A celebration of Maryann's life will be held at a later date in Schenectady. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Assn., P.O. Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241 or to American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
