Mary Susan Schneid

Mary Susan Schneid, 86, of Camillus, passed away peacefully on Wednesday at St. Joseph’s Health Hospital. Mary, who preferred to be called Sue, was a lifetime resident of the Syracuse area.  A 1957 graduate of the Catherine Laboure School of Nursing in Boston, MA, she was a registered nurse for over 25 years. Sue worked at several hospitals in the Syracuse area, and at Dr. Sheehan’s allergy practice for many years. A communicant of St. Joseph’s Church of Camillus, she was a devout Catholic. Sue enjoyed reading, walking, and summers on Otisco Lake. Most of all, she loved spending time with family and friends.

Sue was predeceased by her parents, John and Helen Murphy; and sister, Sally Soltis.

Surviving are her husband of over 62 years, John; sons, Paul (Ann) of Baldwinsville, Mark (Kim) of Cary, NC, Eric (Darra) of Cicero, and David (Katherine) of Fairmount; 13 grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and brother-in-law, John Soltis.

Relatives and friends may call Saturday, March 4 from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church, 5600 W. Genesee St., Camillus. A funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the church.

Sue will be laid to rest in St. Mary’s Cemetery, DeWitt.
