Mary (Regan) Vollmer, 95, of Camillus, passed away peacefully Saturday at home, surrounded by her family. She was a 1944 graduate of St. Lucy’s Academy and was a communicant of Holy Family Church. Mary enjoyed life and was an avid golfer, bowler, and reader. She also enjoyed traveling and loved music. Her tastes ranged from Glenn Miller to Jimmy Buffett which helps to explain her love of sunshine and the beach or Mary and Ray’s showstopping swing dancing. But most of all, Mary was an incredible wife and mother. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were everything to her.
Married to Raymond J. Vollmer for 54 years, they had a wonderful life in Camillus and in later years wintered in Florida until his passing in 2008.
She was predeceased by her stepson, Raymond Randy Wood and brothers, Edward and Lawrence Regan.
Together, Mary and Raymond had four children: Diane Kampf of Camillus, Daniel (Anna) Vollmer of Youngstown, Douglas (Chris) Vollmer of Central Square and Donna (John) Mercer of Fulton; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Mary was proud of her Irish Catholic faith and heritage. She always celebrated her March birthday with a green beer at Coleman’s Restaurant with her family. Cheers, Mom, until we meet again-Love You!
