Mary E. Raymond, 89, of Lakeland, passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at University Hospital at Community General. Born in Syracuse on Saturday, May 20, 1922, she was the daughter of Theodore Patrick Yager and Ethel Blanche Hogan Yager. She lived in Lakeland since 1953. Mary graduated from Central High School and attended Comptometer School. She was formerly employed by Allied Chemical for five years and Sibley's for 15 years. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Peace Church and a member of the Lakeside Fire Dept. Ladies’ Auxiliary. She also enjoyed baking and cooking. Mary was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Howard Clarence Raymond, on August 8, 2004. Surviving are her daughters and son-in-law, Diane and Andrew Pannafino of Mohnton, Pennsylvania and Marilyn Raymond of Manlius; brother, Theodore Yager of Georgia; grandchildren, James (Pam) Pannafino and Doree (John) Bednarik; and great-grandchildren, David and Ella. Relatives and friends may call Monday, December 5 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, December 6 at 9 a.m. in Our Lady of Peace Church. Mary will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
