Mary E. Polge, 83, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on November 14, 2021. She was born in Syracuse to the late Howard and Elizabeth Flynn. Mary was a devoted Catholic and was proud to be a member of Most Holy Rosary parish where she spent many years volunteering for various activities.
Mary worked for several insurance companies prior to becoming a dedicated homemaker. She enjoyed bowling, playing bridge with the “Rosary” gals and was an avid reader. Mary’s greatest love was spending peaceful times at her family camp in the Adirondacks as well as the yearly trips with her husband to Cocoa Beach. She was selflessly devoted to her family and found much joy in participating and supporting her grandchildren’s activities.
In addition to her parents, Mary was predeceased by her brother, Edward; brother-in-law, Michael Canale and grandson, Andrew Guelfi.
Mary is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Charles; children, Chuck (Robin) Polge, Mark (Cindy) Polge, Christen Fetterly, Michele (John) Provo and her five grandchildren. Siblings, William (JoAnne) Flynn and Catherine Canale along with several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Friday, November 19 from 9:30 to 11 am at Most Holy Rosary Church, 111 Roberts Ave., Syracuse 13207. Funeral mass to follow at 11 a.m., burial at St Mary’s Cemetery, Dewitt.
