Mary Sweeney Pasho, of Camillus, passed away Friday March 19, 2010 at Van Duyn Home & Hospital. Born in Florence, she was the daughter of Paul R. Sweeney and Mary Flynn Sweeney. She moved to Camillus in 1949. Mary was a graduate of Camden High School. In 1984 she retired from the VA Medical Center after 32 years and was also formerly employed by Griffiss Air Force Base. She was a communicant of Holy Family Church. An avid bowler and golfer, she was a member of Tuscarora Golf Club. She enjoyed spending time with her family. Mary was predeceased by her brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Kathy Sweeney; brothers-in-law, Emil Lehner and Gerard Gilsenan; and nephew, Kenneth J. Sweeney. Surviving are her husband of 60 years, Joseph; sisters, Ellen Lehner of Syracuse and Audrey Gilsenan of Camden; brother and sister-in-law, John and Shirley Sweeney of Charlotte, North Carolina; nieces, Diane Lehner of Roslindale, Massachusetts, Sheila Lehner-Camerota of Fayetteville, and Carrie Sweeney of Charlotte, North Carolina; nephews, Tom Willson of Chittenango, Danny Willson of Green Bay, Virginia, David Sweeney of Parish, Michael Sweeney of Westmoreland, and Johnny Sweeney of Charlotte, North Carolina; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. A funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 24 in Holy Family Church. Relatives and friends may call Tuesday, March 23 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Entombment will be in Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum, St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mary’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association of CNY, 441 W. Kirkpatrick St., Syracuse, NY 13204.
