Mary Lou Preske

Mary Lou Preske, 82, of Fairmount, passed away Monday, February 15, 2016 at St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center. She was a lifetime resident of Syracuse and employed with Kemper Insurance for many years.  Mary Lou was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Military Order of the Purple Heart, past president of the Camillus senior citizens and was a volunteer for CatFISH.  She was a communicant of Holy Family Church. Mary Lou was predeceased by her husband, Raymond, in 1991; and brother, George Slack, in 2002. Surviving are her son, Robert (Karen O'Hare) Preske; daughters, Pamela (Doug) Kay of Baldwinsville and Nancy Coffey-Newell (Daniel) of Fairmount; brother, Leonard (Lucy) Slack of Solvay; five grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call Friday, February 19 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Services will be Saturday, February 20 at 8:15 a.m. at the funeral home and 9 a.m. in Holy Family Church where a funeral Mass will be celebrated. Mary will be laid to rest in Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Assn., P.O.
