Mary Lischak Kulba, 98, of Tipperary Hill, passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2009. Born in Syracuse on Saturday, November 19, 1910, she was the daughter of Michael Lischak and Julia Patala Lischak. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, she managed the cafeteria at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian School for 15 years, was a school bus driver for seven years and worked for King Laboratory, retiring in 1972. Mary was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church and former member of the Catholic Daughters of America. She enjoyed bowling and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mary was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Stephen Sr., who passed away on December 5, 1998; son, Stephen M. Jr., who passed away on June 7, 2006; sisters, Helen Kotyra and June Litz; and brother, John Lischak. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ellen and Michael Colucy of Onondaga Hill; brother and sister-in-law, William and Martha Lischak of Onondaga Hill; sisters, Anne Lewicki and Katherine Pisiak, both of Syracuse; cousin, Julia Gillman of Syracuse; grandchildren, Deborah Wolcott, Gwenn (Timothy) McDonald, Barbara (Mike) Hebert and Norman (Debra) Kulba; great-grandchildren, Norman Kulba Jr., Samantha Kulba, Michael S. Kulba, Carolyn Sitnik, Thaddeus Sitnik Jr., Scott McDonald, Victoria Wolcott, Rebecca Wolcott, Samuel Wolcott IV, Danielle Hebert and Jennifer Hebert; and many nieces and nephews. Services will be at 9:15 a.m. Saturday, April 25, 2009 at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus and at 10 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church where a Divine Liturgy for the Deceased will be celebrated. Relatives and friends may call Friday, April 24, 2009 from 3 to 7 p.m. with Panakhyda services at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Mary will be laid to rest in St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery.
