Mary Fialkovic Urena, 89 of Syracuse, passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at Crouse Hospital. Born in Jamesville on Monday, March 22, 1920, she was the daughter of Michael Fialkovic and Anna Sobel Fialkovic. She moved to the Valley in the 1950s. Mary was a former communicant of St. James Church and active in St. James and CBA school activities. She was a former member of the Altar & Rosary Society. A current communicant of Holy Family Church, she enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family. Mary was predeceased by her husband, Frank, in 1973; sisters, Agnes Wicks and Wilma Naymik; and brother, Robert Fialkovic. Surviving are her son, Donald Urena and Connie L. Urena, both of Camillus; granddaughters, Amanda Urena of Virginia and Dana Rose (David) Stagnitta of East Syracuse; sisters, Margaret Bednarz of Syracuse and Helen Picquet of Jamesville; and brother and sister-in-law, Peter and Anne Fialkovic of Jamesville; special friends, Paul and Angela Carlucci of Syracuse; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, September 26, 2009 at Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus and at 9 a.m. in Holy Family Church where a funeral Mass will be celebrated. Relatives and friends may call Friday, September 25, 2009 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Mary will be laid to rest in St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt. Contributions in loving memory of Mary J.
