Mary Jane Odell, 82, passed away Friday, July 8, 2016 in Georgia. Born in Olean, she was raised in Bradford, PA and lived many years in Falconer, NY. Mary Jane retained the Young Women's Tennis Tournament title in 1949. She was a graduate of Bradford High School and a 1955 graduate of Mercyhurst College, where she was honored along with her friend, Marjorie Williams, to meet Eleanor Roosevelt. Mary Jane taught business classes for 30 years with Falconer School District and also taught in Bradford, PA. Upon retirement, Mary Jane moved to Naples, FL where she lived for 20 years. She was a member of Penn Hills Country Club in Bradford, PA, New York State Teachers' Association and Mercyhurst College Alumini Association. Surviving are her brothers, Don R. (Neilie) Odell Jr. of Marcellus and Gary (Amy) Clark of Bay Village, OH; nephews, Don R. Odell III (Jennifer Dick) of Flowery Branch, GA and David N. (Jill) Odell of Weedsport; and nieces, Carolyn (Joseph) Sirera of Greensboro, NC and Christine (Pasquale) DiNova of Pittsford. There will be no calling hours. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, July 29 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, Camillus. Private burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany, NY.
