Mary Jane Mangano Knowles Iannettone

Mary Jane Iannettone, of Camillus, devoted daughter, wife and mother, passed away Monday, November 17, 2008 at home. Born in Syracuse, she was the daughter of Anthony Mangano and Carmilla Rose Maio Mangano. She was a lifetime resident of the Syracuse area. An active communicant of Holy Family Church, Mary Jane served as a Eucharistic minister, altar server and funeral luncheon co-captain. She was an original Bingo volunteer and member of the Holy Family Seniors. Mary Jane, Ginger, was secretary for the Junior Y Council and graduated valedictorian of her class at North High. She graduated from Central City Business Institute. Mary Jane was employed by McFarlin's Clothing Co., Solvay Glass and WSYR Radio. She was a volunteer for USO dances at the CYO and St. Camillus for 12 years. Mary Jane was predeceased by her husband, Ray Iannettone and her son, Donald E. Knowles Jr. Greater love has no one than this; that one would lay down their life for another. Surviving are her children, Deborah and Gary Schiffer, Jacqueline and David Dreas, Ann and William Merrick, Howard Knowles, Steven Knowles, and Richard and Irene Knowles; Anthony and Mary Iannettone, and Renard and Victoria Iannettone, 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Rita and Ted Baltas; brother, Peter Mangano; sister-in-law, Shirley Iannettone and brother-in-law, Anthony Toscano. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, November 21, 2008 in Holy Family Church where a funeral Mass will be celebrated. Friends may call Thursday, November 20, 2008 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Burial will be in Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Hospice of Central New York, 990 Seventh North St., Liverpool, NY 13088.
