Mary Jane Flores, 78, of Fairmount, passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at Community General Hospital after a short illness. Born in Geneva on Friday, December 12, 1930, she was the daughter of Charles Lapp and Mary Ann Fleming Lapp. She lived in Fairmount for most of her life. Mary was a communicant of Holy Family Church. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, she was a housewife who enjoyed cooking and shopping. Mary loved spending time with her family and friends, especially during the holidays. She had a love for animals and enjoyed her cats. Mary was predeceased by her husband, Amadeo, who died on June 6, 2000; a brother and sister. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the third floor of Community General Hospital for their kindness and loving care to Mary. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann and Richard Miemietz and son and girlfriend, Amadeo “Tony” Flores Jr. and Jennifer DuHamel, all of Elbridge; grandchildren, Lisa, Nicole, Christopher, Matthew and Aaron; sister, Violia Vanderworker of Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 5, 2009 at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus and at 11 a.m. in Holy Family Church where a funeral Mass will be celebrated. Relatives and friends may call Friday, September, 4, 2009 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Mary will be laid to rest in St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt.
