Mary Elizabeth Murphy, 83, of Camillus, passed away Wednesday at Van Duyn Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing. She was a lifetime resident of the Syracuse area and graduate of St. Patrick’s High School on Tipperary Hill.
Mary was a gifted pianist and composer, a lover of flowers, gardens and all things beautiful. She was a compassionate advocate for those in need and a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
Mary was predeceased by her brothers, Robert, Daniel and Gregory Hall.
Surviving are her husband of 58 years, Thomas; son, Thomas Murphy Jr. of Camillus; daughter, Rita (Edward Havard) Murphy of Charlotte, VT; grandson, Liam; and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Tuesday, February 11 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St. Camillus.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, February 12 at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, 5600 West Genesee St.¸ Camillus. Mary will be laid to rest in Maplewood Cemetery, Camillus.
