Mary Eleanor Flynn, 94, of Camillus, passed away Friday, April 30, 2010 at Sunnyside Care Center, East Syracuse. Born in Syracuse on Friday, June 25, 1915, she was the daughter of Jeremiah Manton and Mary E. Warden Manton. She lived in Camillus for 54 years. Mary retired in 1977 after 35 years with A&P Food Stores. A communicant of St. Joseph's Church, she worked a number of years on the Hope Appeal and also volunteered at Community General Hospital. Mary was predeceased by her husband, James; and daughter, Shirley A. Savage. Surviving are her sons, James of Camillus and John of Scriba; 11 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 4 in St. Joseph’s Church. Relatives and friends may call Monday, May 3 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Mary will be laid to rest in St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt. Contributions may be made to St. Joseph's Church Food Pantry, 5600 W. Genesee St., Camillus, NY 13031.
