Mary C. Dyba, 91, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, June 10, 2020. A graduate of North High School and lifetime resident of Syracuse, she retired from Onondaga County in 1986. Mary was a communicant of the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Her love and flair for cooking and baking was especially appreciated by her family. Some of their favorite family memories were centered around her dining room table sharing one of her delicious meals. Mary loved spending time with friends and family, especially her granddaughters.
Our mother and grandmother was a beautiful, sweet woman, who will be dearly missed. We were blessed to have her with us all these years.
Mary was predeceased by her adoring husband, Joseph Sr., in 2008.
Surviving are her daughter, Doreen (James) Carnegie of Camillus; son, Joseph (Karen Nadolski) Dyba Jr. of Onondaga Hill; daughter-in-law, Anita Dyba of Syracuse; grandchildren, Jennifer (David) Kassakatis of Elbridge, Christine (Jason Alvaro) Carnegie of Syracuse, Chloe (Todd Armstrong) Dyba of Portland, OR and Noelle Dyba of Syracuse; great-grandson, Wesley Kassakatis; sisters, Fran Geremski and Josie (Art) Barnello; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to thank Dr. William Berkery and Dr. James Blanchfield for their dedicated, exceptional care.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, June 18 at 9:30 a.m. in the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The church can safely accommodate 150 people per the current COVID-19 regulations. Face masks and coverings are required. Mary will be laid to rest in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Geddes.
