Mary Armstrong, of Camillus, passed away Saturday, September 19, 2009 at home. Born in Rochester, she was the daughter of John Christopher Seamans and Marguerite Drumm Seamans. She grew up in the Onondaga Park area and lived in Camillus the past 52 years. Mary was employed by Allis-Chalmers Manufacturing Co. for 15 years. She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church and a church volunteer. An avid golfer and former member of Tuscarora Golf Club, she was a current member of the Skaneateles County Club, Timber Greens Golf & Country Club and the Syracuse Women's District Golf Association. Mary was also a member of the Western Hills and Stonehedge Bridge groups. She volunteered for the PGA Tournaments and Senior PGA Tournaments in Florida and Syracuse, and also for Maxwell Library. She enjoyed playing many sports while growing up and loved to travel in later years. Surviving are her husband of 65 years, Raymond; sister-in-law, Mary Alice Armstrong; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 24, 2009 in St. Joseph’s Church where a funeral Mass will be celebrated.
