Mary Ann Battisti, 78, of Syracuse, passed away Tuesday at St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center. Born in Syracuse, she was an animal rights activist who helped countless cats find homes and shelter for over 40 years. Mary Ann was a woman of faith who enjoyed classic films, online shopping and loved going to the casino.
Mary Ann was predeceased in 2010 by her husband of 27 years, Joseph; brothers, Sonny, Jack and Patrick Clements; and sister, Peggy Clements.
Surviving are her sons, Anthony (Lisa) DaRin of Manlius and James (Michelle) DaRin of Jamesville; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be private. Mary Ann will be laid to rest in the Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
