Mary A. Meier, 69, of Camillus, passed away unexpectedly Thursday at home. Born in Syracuse, she was a teacher at Dr. King Elementary School for more than 30 years. Mary received a bachelor's degree from Le Moyne College and master's degree from Syracuse University. A communicant of St. Joseph's Church, she also visited the Adoration Chapel frequently. She loved horses, feeding birds and planting wild flowers. An independent and very loyal person, she was a good friend to many. Mary was predeceased by her father, Melvin A. Meier. Surviving are her mother, Margaret C. Meier; sister, Joan (Wayne) Passage of Camillus; several cousins and second cousins; and godmother to Amanda Dollison. Relatives and friends may call Tuesday, November 10 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Services will be at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, November 11 at the funeral home and at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph's Church where the funeral will be celebrated.
