Martha L. (Slater) Wheeler

Martha L. (Slater) Wheeler, 80, of Camillus, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2018 at The Centers at St. Camillus. A lifetime resident of Syracuse, she formerly lived in Howlett Hill. Martha was employed with St. Camillus Health & Rehabilitation Center for 23 years. She was a member of West Genesee Hills Baptist Church. Martha enjoyed baking, especially cake decorating, and spending time with family.

Martha was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Kent G. Wheeler Sr., in 2010; grandmothers, Myra Manley and Sophia Slater; and great-granddaughter, Kenzee Wheeler.

Surviving are her sons, Kent Jr. of Cuyler, Michael (Katherine) of Syracuse and Edward of Auburn; grandchildren, Kent (Karissa) Wheeler III of Windsor, Joel Wheeler of Auburn and Meghan (Scott) Harrison of Oswego; great-grandchildren, Kyler and Kierra; brother, D. Raymond Slater of Skaneateles; and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call Monday, May 14 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.

Services will be Tuesday, May 15 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Martha will be laid to rest in Howlett Hill Cemetery, Camillus.
