Marlene Patrick Chatfield, 79, of Syracuse, passed away unexpectedly January 5, 2016 at her home on Tuesday. She was a loving, devoted mother to her three daughters, Lisa Chatfield, Kimberly Chatfield (Jesse Cizenski) and Carin (Gary) Saxenian. She also leaves behind two grandchildren, Patrick Calkins and Ava Saxenian, as well as her beloved cousin, Marsha Jaquin. Marlene graduated from Syracuse University in 1957. After raising her daughters, she joined her father at the family business, Patrick's 2-hour Dry Cleaning and Laundering, Inc. Upon her father's passing, Marlene took over as president of the company in 1982. Under her leadership, Patrick's Cleaners continued to provide exceptional service to its commercial and residential customers. She also remained devoted to the well-being of her employees until her retirement in January 2009. Marlene will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her. Relatives and friends may call Tuesday, January 12 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, January 13 at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church. Marlene will be laid to rest in Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum, St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt.
