Marjorie Lockerbie Vertrees, 87, of Camillus, passed away Saturday, August 4, 2007at her home surrounded by her devoted family. Born in Syracuse on Wednesday, July 14, 1920, she was the daughter of Earl M. Lockerbie and Dorothy W. Stowe Vertrees. She lived in Camillus for 53 years. She will be remembered for her strength of character and strong sense of responsibility. Marjorie worked as a secretary at Pass & Seymour for 28 years. She was a member of Pass & Seymour bowling and golf leagues. She was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, William Vertrees. Surviving are her daughters and son-in-law, Patricia Anthony of Camillus and Charlene and George Atkinson of Washington, DC; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Bette Vertrees of Liverpool; brother-in-law, Douglas C. Bramhall of Syracuse; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and several nephews. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 8, 2007 at Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners. Friends may call Tuesday, August 7, 2007 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
