The earthly life of Marjorie Fox, of East Syracuse, ended Saturday, April 11, 2020. Born September 28, 1928, in North Bay, Ontario, Canada to Emily and Frank Locke, she attended Denbigh High School and Lindsay Collegiate Institute and graduated from Baker Business School in Linsday, Ontario, Canada. She came to the United States in her teens. Marjorie retired from KeyBank in 1992 after 27 years and bowled on their team for many years. She was a member of the 25-Year Club. She was active in PSI (now IAAP) and was past president. Marjorie was also an active member of Centenary Methodist Church, then First United Methodist Church and now Erwin First United Methodist Church. She was a member of Boyd-Noble Circle, the Altar Guild, United Methodist Women and the ACE Committee and often visited shut-ins. She also volunteered at the Jewish Home Adult Day Center.
Margie enjoyed gardening and traveling, especially to Florida where she could visit with her grandchildren. She also loved to entertain and cook meals for her family. When her husband Joe was living, every holiday and occasion was marked by a gathering of their families and lots of fun!
Marjorie was predeceased by her husband, Joseph E. Fox, in 1997; parents, Emily and Frank Locke; brothers, Robert and Harold; sister, Frances Caraway; and first husband, Calvin O. Goodrich.
Marjorie is survived by her children, Cathy, Calvin and Terry (Patti) Goodrich; stepchildren, Joseph, Christine, and Coleen Fox, Mary Ellen Fiorille and Nancy (Rudy) Reed; sisters-in-law, Mary Ann McDougall and Florence Locke; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; several nephews and cousins; one niece; and many cherished friends.
Services will be private. A celebration of Marjorie’s life will be held at a later date for family and friends. Burial will be in Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery. A live stream of the service will be available to view at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 16th on Marjorie's tribute wall page.
