Mario Panzironi, 83, of Camillus, passed away Sunday, January 15, 2017 at The Centers at St. Camillus. Born in Rome, Italy, he moved to Montreal, Canada in 1964 and lived in the Syracuse area since in 1970. He served two years with the Italian Army.
Mario was employed as a hairdresser for 20 years and retired in 1998 from Southern Container Corp. where he worked for more than 30 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years, the former Jeannette Essi; daughters, Sabrina (James) Stagnitta of Camillus and Tamara Panzironi of Syracuse; sister: Lia (Giuseppe) Ienuso of Rome, Italy; granddaughter, Gianna Fresina; step-grandchildren, Amanda Stagnitta and James Stagnitta Jr.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
There will be no calling hours.
Funeral services will be Thursday, January 19 at 11 a.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Mario will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of St. Camillus, especially the staff on D-Unit and the Brain Injury unit.
