Marilyn Whittles Del Signore, 83, of Liverpool, passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center. Born in Utica, she graduated from New York Mills High School and moved to Syracuse in 1965. Marilyn retired in 1988 after 20 years with Sears Roebuck & Co. A communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church, she loved spending time with her family and also enjoyed sewing, knitting, needlepoint, and crocheting. Marilyn was predeceased by her first husband, Kenneth Whittles, in 1988; brothers, William and John Scholl; sisters, Kathy Many and Nancy Ernst; and son-in-law, John Suhey III. Surviving are her husband of 23 years, James Del Signore; daughter, Diane (Jerry) Cassalia of Camillus; sons, David Whittles of Mount Marion, Daniel (Margaret) Whittles of Baldwinsville and Dean Whittles of Syracuse; stepsons, Alan (Cynthia) Del Signore of Virgil and James (Cathy) Del Signore II of Enfield; stepdaughters, Sue (Mark) Lamb of Canastota and Cindy (Todd) Davenport of Virgil; brothers, Richard (Betty) Scholl of Florida and Harland (Jane) Scholl of Mississippi; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call Thursday, June 27 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, June 28 at 10 a.m. in St. Rose of Lima Church, 407 S. Main St., No. Syracuse. Marilyn will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
